As a small child I remember going into NYC with my mother, standing in front of Van Cleef & Arpels, 5th avenue windows and being dazzled by the replica of Empress Josephine's crown. Thus began my lifelong love of jewelry of all kinds.
As a single mother of two, I started the Glassworks Studio Ltd. in 1981 designing my first pieces on my kitchen table. As the business grew my two daughters, Jill and Kara, joined me as my partners; Jill, in cataloging and design and Kara in all things financial. An added joy is having my grandchildren with me everyday learning the business from the ground up.
As the business evolved, we decided to change the name of the company to Anne Koplik Designs Inc. and I am proud to say that AKD manufactures the finest costume jewelry for the strong contemporary woman of today's world. I have chosen to keep manufacturing in the USA due to the superior workmanship available here and to support the American worker.
In my wildest dreams, I never imagined Anne Koplik Designs would be worn by famous stars on television, in Hollywood, and on the red carpet. AKD is worn on many soap operas and prime time television shows, currently on Dancing with the Stars, Skating with the Stars as well as The View, The Wendy Williams Show, Americas Got Talent, The Insider, Entertainment Tonight, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and 90210. We have been featured at the American Music Awards, The Daytime Emmy Awards, and The Tony Awards. Fashion editorial coverage includes prominent magazines such as In Style, Lucky, Modern Bride, Your Prom, Good Housekeeping, and WW to name a few.
We use only the finest materials, including Swarovski Elements, semi-precious stones, antique glass beads, and exclusive hand enameling. We individually design, produce, and ship from our New York, USA studio. |
