Earth creations evolved from an ordinary bike ride. One day after a storm, Joy took her mountain bike out for some off-roading and ended up covered with Alabama red dirt. Despite many tumbles through the washing machine, the shirt, socks, and shoes remained stubbornly stained by that mud! When Joy and Martin met years later, Martin was intrigued by the strength of that red clay. Where most people saw ruined clothes, Martin saw potential. Armed with his background in chemistry, concern for the environment, and a natural curiosity, Martin began experimenting with the clay as a dye for T-shirts.
That was almost 17 years ago. Our garments are still colored with natural clay dyes using the process Martin originally developed. From the first “Alabama Dirt Shirt” tinted with that infamous red clay, earth creations has grown into a full line of organic T-shirts dyed in a rainbow of colors for men, women, and children. We also have a complete casual wear line for women made from sustainable fibers.
Over the years, our mission hasn’t changed. Nature is still our greatest inspiration, and protecting the Earth remains our passion. We strive to create high-quality, eco-friendly clothing in a sustainable manner, and still make it something beautiful that you’ll love to wear day after day. We work to give back to our community in meaningful ways, helping out good causes and supporting environmental efforts. |

Thoughts on America:
Not only does producing in our backyard help to revitalize the community, it’s kinder on the planet. Clothes made in the United States, rather than some overseas location, ultimately leads to a smaller carbon footprint. That’s because most of our clothes do not need to be transported long distances via cargo ship or semi to get here; they already are here. Making the bulk of our clothes in Alabama is just one way we try to "Think Globally, Act Locally and keep jobs in America." |
