The Fire Pit Gallery is a family owned company based in Niles, Ohio. The Fire Pit Gallery started when Jason came up with the idea for making the fire pits and talked with Melissa about adding her artistic touch. They approached Melissa’s parents, Tom and Marlene Appel (the entrepreneurs of the family), for there involvement because they have the knowledge and experience needed to help start a successful business.
In the spotlight is Melissa Crisp, the artist who designs and cuts most of the bowls. A true artist by nature, Melissa was creating, sketching, sculpting, and painting since early childhood. Her passion took off when she was given a custom-built “art center” in the fourth grade and took her all the way to an art scholarship to the University of Nebraska in Omaha after high school. She is truly in her element with steel as her medium for artistic expression.
She was married to Jason Crisp right out of high school and chose to be a stay at home mom for the last eight years. The happy couple moved to Jason’s home town of Niles, Ohio in 2003 and they now have four beautiful children, Ellie, Emily, JP, and Samantha. Melissa often jokes "the best part of selling a fire pit is getting out of the house".
Jason is our certified welder and also owns JMC Welding and Design with Melissa. Once they have been welded, Melissa uses a plasma cutter to turn the bowls into custom art. |

Thoughts on America:
We are very proud of America and what it stands for. Freedom is very important to us for a lot of reasons but having the freedom to persue you dream is close to our heart. We created the "Freedom Fire" fire pit as a tribute to our troops and for the sacrifices they have made to keep our great country free. |
