What began as an idea some 25 years ago to create the most comfortable shoe ever became more than just a reality, rather a thriving and substantial business that today has sold more than 30 million pairs.
This notion to deliver foot comfort at an affordable price was the brainchild of the Irvani family, who brought to the United States business know-how, manufacturing expertise and ideals of the ancient art of reflexology. Thus began the Okabashi brand.
Okabashi's ever popular spa sandal inspired the creation of a new line. In January 2004, Okabashi was proud to unveil OKA b., its newest boutique brand. OKA b. presents consumers with a new range of eco-chic and fashionable styles that are just as comfortable as Okabashi originals. OKA b. products can be purchased online at www.shoesthatloveyou.com.
The 2006 endorsement from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) distinguishes Okabashi shoes from others as being the only shoes recommended for proper support and postural alignment.

In today's climate of overseas manufacturing for cheaper labor and costs, 98% of shoes Americans wear are made abroad. Not okabashi! We are proud to say that all of our shoes are Made in the USA. Because we are manufactured domesticallym Okabashi shoes travel an average of 700 miles - compared to imported shoes, which travel an average of 11,600 miles to get to US homes. This means a huge reduction in the carbon footprint of the product, the manufacturer, and the consumer. Okabashi employs over 250 full time and factory employees in its Buford, GA plant, providing jobs and financial growth to the local economy. |
