Loop Collection was founded in 2010 by two New York City knit designers who often wondered why life couldn’t be about loving what you do, making beautiful things, and being nice. They believed wholeheartedly that what goes around comes around. Kindness comes back around, love comes back around and good style comes back around. Out of this philosophy Loop Collection was born. Our collection is inspired by vintage looks and quality, when well made and well worn garments were the rule and not the exception. We put a lot of love and care into creating cool clothes for little people, knowing that if there is care in the design, someone on the receiving end will feel it. Our styles may be reminiscent of yesteryear but our company addresses contemporary concerns. Each garment is proudly knit and assembled in the U.S.A. This means we work with manufacturers directly; supporting local industry and forming partnerships that assure quality and efficiency. All of our materials, from our yarn to our sustainably harvested wood buttons, to our packaging and labels, are responsibly and domestically manufactured. We knit with recycled cotton, which eliminates harsh chemical dyeing processes, reduces land use for crops and in turn the need for fertilizers and pesticides. We are just one small company but we feel like we're helping to make a big difference! |

Thoughts on America:
We are two designers who have worked for big corporations. Over the past few years we have seen the negative effects that off-shore production has had on the fashion industry. Price has become more important than quality. Even more alarming, we have seen the closing of many American manufacturers who could no longer compete. In April 2010, we decided that we would start a sweater company using only goods manufactured in the US. Coming up with the designs was the easy part, finding American materials and manufacturers was very difficult.
Almost a year later, we have accomplished our goal. We use recycled yarn spun in Georgia, our buttons are manufactured in Brooklyn using sustainably harvested trees from Maine, our knitting factory is located in NJ and our stitcher is located in Queens. We are in the process of manufacturing our Fall line and have just launched our website. We would like to see the resurgence of the American economy by helping to contribute to American productivity and by helping Americans realize the importance of supporting American made products. We are hopeful that others will be as passionate as we are in supporting an American company. |
