Aloha, We are the creators of Bag Swag, a mother and daughter dynamic duo. While we don’t always see eye to eye, we do know this “a girl should be two things: classy and fabulous” – Coco Chanel. That is why we developed Bag Swag, a line of travel & leisure accessories to match our flair for the fun and flirty. After a long flight, I was watching suitcases go round and round the baggage claim carousel at Honolulu International Airport. That’s a lot of bland, black, boring luggage, I thought. As I waited for my own bag to make its way to me, a fellow passenger accidentally grabbed my bag thinking it was his own. He was quite embarrassed when I told him he had the wrong suitcase but I had an ‘aha moment’. As I drove home from the airport I realized it wasn’t enough to just have a colored bow or name tag on my bag… it needed some swag. Something fun yet functional to make my suitcase easy to spot and secure. Living in Hawaii, I am surprised every time a female surfer takes a tumble on a wave in her bikini. No matter which way the material stretches it always stays in place. And we can only guess how many times our checked luggage gets tossed around as soon as it leaves our hands. The fabric is amazingly versatile and the print selection is endless. Even before I unpacked my bags I grabbed an old one piece bathing suit and re-purposed it into the first prototype of a luggage cover. The next day I shared the concept with my daughter and with her ideas, input and encouragement Bag Swag was born. Our goal is to bring you tips and tricks for when you travel, information on the latest and greatest travel related accessories, entertaining news of Hawaii, and maybe a few fun anecdotal tales of our adventures along the way.
