With a mandate to protect the environment, ecosystem journals, planners, and notebooks were developed with only 100% post-consumer recycled paper. In fact, by using this paper in 2009, ecosystem will have saved* 3,046 full-grown trees, 1,299,751 gallons of water and 283,974 pounds of greenhouse gases. Every component that makes up an ecosystem book has been researched to ensure the most environmentally friendly materials or production methods are being used. And because the product is completely made in the US, its ecological footprint is minimized (shipping between shorter distances) and paper suppliers confirm all paper used is 100% post-consumer recycled fiber.
From its inception, ecosystem was designed to empower environmentally aware product owners, be they recycling gurus or new to the process. Each item has a unique book ID number, which may be used here to track a book's origins, learn how they are environmentally-friendly, and to find out exactly how to recycle each book. ecosystem journals, planners, and notebooks were designed to meet the aesthetic, practical and functional needs of all book users. The system was designed to address the key elements like book size, cover type, color, and interior layout.
Colors are chosen to be trend-right reflections of an owner's personality. The design and colors are intentionally more contemporary and vibrant than often associated with "green" paper products – proving that "being green doesn't have to be brown."
