The Chattahoochee Pencil Company is a family owned business located in Atlanta, near the Chattahoochee River, which flows through much of Georgia. While the exact meaning of the word "Chattahoochee" is not known, it is believed that "chatta" means rock and "hoochee" means painted river. So our best translation is "river of painted rock". |
